Design and layout of the Spring/ Summer 2008 children's program. Part of the brief was to design 6 characters which I assigned to illustator Paul Archer who came up with the sketches and concepts. I then scanned and coloured the characters and built the layout around them.

The brief for this project was to create a brand identity and information/ instruction guide for the marketing of a Cove Mitre tool. Various elements were sourced from the original designs and used to create a number of marketing items for the product.

Poster design for charity organisation 'African Women's Forum in association with the New Theatre Royal. The poster and flyer were to promote the new show 'Brighter than the Moon'.

This brochure is aimed at schools and organisations to promote the shows and workshops offered by Solent Peoples Theatre. The design is inkeeping with the theme I used on the website and follows the familiar tilted format.

Cityscape V5 is the first in a series of urban themed prints. I plan to produce 6 in total all depicting a different aspect of urban sprawl. The scene measures 1000mm x 600mm when printed and was created entirely using Adobe's CS2 package. I hope upon completion of the series to exhibit them somewhere in the local area, so watch this space.

The human race has grown and sprawled across the face of the globe shaping and changing the landscapes and skylines as we go. Cityscape V5 depicts a cluster of skyscrapers tearing into the skyline whilst a train rips through the forest along an unfinished track. A flock of birds escape a plume of smoke that emits from the city centre as the entire scene is overshadowed by a giant burning hot sun.

Design for V Note's second promo release. Again this CD is aimed at radio stations and people within the music industry, so this time we decided to use a fold out promotional case so they could include imagery and a brief biography.

The main image on the inside cover was the result of a two hour photo shoot and many more hours of manipulation to create the V Note 'one man band', the microphone was deliberately left unattended as V Note frequently collaborates with vocalists spanning many genres.

"Want the war to nourish you? ...You have to feed it something too."

Brecht's classic tale of 'Mother Courage and Her Children' is one of lost lives and financial profit through war. Solent Peoples Theatre wanted to highlight this in a contemporary remake of the play. After the recent war for oil in Iraq I decided to base the design on the recent gulf conflicts, however the Mother Courage wagon is somewhat symbolic within the play and I decided to keep this element as the centerpiece of the artwork.

Promotional material for this included A5 postcards [1,2,3] and an A3 poster [4,5].

Design concepts for a variety of newspaper and magazine adverts for the New Theatre Royal. Everything from children's shows to dramatic productions. The five images above are just a cross section of the numerous adverts I have produced for them in the past two years.

After re-designing the site it was decided that future promotional material should follow a similar concept to the bold constructivist design. I came up with this simple but bold design for Solent Peoples Theatre's headed paper and business cards.

E-flyer design to promote V Notes web presence and to encourage some hits towards the official V Note Myspace page. The concept of this piece was simple, V Note is invading your airwaves and there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it! If you can't beat em, join em - [V Note official myspace page].

"CIWF are stepping up the pressure on DEFRA to ban calf exports as we approach the one-year anniversary of the resumption of exports. There is a strong case for a ban. In the short time since exports resumed, there have been several incidences that have illustrated that the current regulations do not prevent the calves suffering. They often arrive at their destinations in a state of high physical and psychological stress."

"In one case, a shipment was severely delayed at Dover, leaving calves waiting on the dockside for up to 15 hours. Lorries then continued their journeys across Europe, ignoring the legal requirement to stop and unload the calves for 24 hours rest. Because there is no lairage (facilities to unload and rest calves) at Dover, when shipments can not sail due to bad weather, lorries are often sent back to their point of origin. This results in calves making repeated long journeys, often from as far as Ireland or Scotland."

Design for V Note's first promo CD case, only 100 of these went to press and were sent to a variety of radio stations and record promoters. As a result of the demo V Note went on to receive airplay on several of the targeted radio stations and one of the listed tracks came 2nd in the industry acclaimed Pulse Rated unsigned artist competition.

Chickens OUT! is CIWF's new hard hitting double-messaged campaign which aims to uphold the current battery cage ban due to come into effect in 2012 and to strengthen the EU's latest Broiler Directive so that it includes higher welfare standards for chickens bred for meat."

Campaign material for this included flyers [5], postcards [1], newsletters [3], action packs [3], merchandise [1,4] and t-shirts. I designed the logo and all subsequent material for the campaign which is proving to be a massive success worldwide and has attracted thousands of supporters.

Design and layout of CIWF's quarterly 'Compassion in Action' newsletter. The design was restricted by cost and also the desire to squeeze maximum content into a minimal space. The design was initially limited to a 2 colour print but after some searching around I found them a competitively priced printer that could offer a full colour version at no extra cost.
